Jason Venus
Jason has been drawing since he was first able to hold a pen some 40 years ago! His school books were filled with little doodles and animations, and he still draws almost every day.
With limited ‘artist’ jobs in the local area, he began his working life as a commercial photographer, capturing everything from helicopters to food, people, and wildlife. This experience taught him the importance of composition and lighting—skills that continue to shape the way he approaches his art today.
With the rise of the internet and home computing, Jason became increasingly involved in digital art, exploring software such as Adobe Photoshop. Jason found digital drawing more exciting than traditional pen and paper as there seemed to be endless creative possibilities.
For creating his art, Jason typically works in Adobe photoshop or Procreate. Using Apple Mac computers and a Wacom Cintiq 24inch HD drawing display he is able to draw directly onto the screen much like you would with normal pen and paper.
When not sat infant of the Cintiq screen, he can be found on his iPad working within the Procreate app sketching out ideas, and doodling.
